How to maintain the plate heat exchangers

14 Dec 2020

Your heat exchangers may appear some problems in the working process.  Today we are going to talk about how to maintain the heat exchangers. Let's learn about it.

A plate heat exchanger is an essential part of the industrial process. However, the gasket is a wear and tear part of the plate heat exchanger. So the gasket has a significant influence on the service life of the plate heat exchanger. If the gasket hardens and loses its elasticity, which means the heat exchanger won't work correctly. To solve the leakage phenomenon caused by the aging of the gasket, we can adjust the heat exchanger's sealing performance, that is, tighten the bolts again and adjust the compression force of the gaskets.

In general, the maximum and minimum allowable pressure will give on the nameplate of the plate heat exchanger. For a new heat exchanger, it connection should be fixed with the minimum permissible pressure. Suppose there is no specific pressure adjustment range in the nameplate. In that case, the tightening torque shouldn't be lower than the value specified in the drawing, which is related to the assembly quality and deformation. If the plate heat exchanger is used in an important production line with the corrosive media, Accessen suggests keeping one set of gaskets. Usually, the gaskets could store for about three years in a transparent plastic package with a temperature of 18℃.

Accessen is a genuine original plate heat exchanger manufacturer with all components are produced in our own factory and complete end products.
