How to deal with the increased thermal resistance

17 May 2021

After running for a while, the plate heat exchanger will produce dirt and sediment, which will increase the thermal resistance of the fluid and reduce the performance of heat transfer. So As a user, they must clean the heat exchanger regularly. After cleaning, to make the heat exchange equipment usually operate, we must debug the heat exchanger before using it. So what should we pay attention to in the debugging of the plate heat exchanger?

1. There should be a particular inspection site reserved around the plate heat exchanger location.

2. Before installation, the pipeline connected with the heat exchanger should be cleaned to avoid sand, oil, welding slag, and other debris into the plate heat exchanger, resulting in inflow obstruction or damage to the plate.

3. If the medium contains granular substances or debris, install a filter or decontaminator at the inlet of the heat exchanger to avoid the blockage.

4. Check whether the pipe is correct to avoid the mixing of the two media.

5. Check whether the clamping bolts are loose before operating and tighten them.

6. Start the plate heat exchanger.

When starting the plate heat exchanger, the pump of the cold and hot medium should be running first, then slowly open the inlet valve of the cold medium, and then open the inlet valve of the hot medium. In this way, the medium can flow slowly into the heat exchanger to avoid overheating.

Accessen are a genuine original plate heat exchanger manufacturer with all components are produced in our own factory and complete end products. Maximum capacity: producting 30000 sets of heat exchanger and 5000 sets of heat exchanger packages per year.
